I'm having troubles finding the Focal Point of the Reflector in the roaster,
The Domed lid tends to have a reflection of its own.
The spot on the bottom right hand corner, is the sun.

You need your reflector SNUG against your pot, it needs to be totally conformed to the oval shape of your cooker.
Thanks for the pictures, it really helped me to see what the problem was. You are on the right track.
